Neofrakt® is a product of Spronken Orthopedie N.V. The principle
of the Neofrakt®-system is the combination of polyurethane rigid
foam as a splint, and the elastic stocking as bandage surface. The
polyurethane rigid foam Neofrakt® employs, was developed
especially for medical purposes. The Neofrakt® bandage is
applied in soft condition. It hardens on the body and is easy to modify.
The surface of the Neofrakt® bandage makes an extra stockinette
superfluous. Neofrakt® is not only for simple splints and
cylinder bandages. It is also very suitable for complicated temporary
orthopaedic applications.

PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
Neofrakt® is made by combining the following 2
products.

Polyurethaan
rigid or soft foam
 The
polyurethane hard and soft foams were especially developed for medical
applications. These polyurethanes harden by mixing 2 components which
are packed
in 2 separate cans. These cans are connected to each other by a
plastic ring and they are not sold separately. When we talk about
polyurethane, we always mean the 2 components together.
The textiles
 The
textiles are made of 100 % high quality cotton. They are designed
according to the shape of the parts of the body which need to be
immobilised. All models have 1 or more zips or velcro fasteners.
Every textile is available in the sizes extra-small to extra-large and
most of them have special sizes for children. If necessary, every
textile can be made to measure. |

2.1. Removable

NEOFRAKT®
is removable through zips and/or velcro fasteners. It can be worn over
and over again without reapplication. Once the splint is made, you can
repeadtedly take it off and put it on again like a brace. This is a major
breakthrough in immobilisation technics and an important advantage for
several indications.

The textiles
are designed according to the shape of the parts of the body which need to
be immobilised. Every model is available in different sizes (es, s, m, l,
el). The high quality cotton is elastic so the polyurethane can foam
freely in all directions. Therefore it hardens according to the shape of
the part of the body which needs to be immobilised. The combination of
these 2 products assures a perfect fit. After the foaming, the NEOFRAKT®-splint
can be cut at the desired length (and formafgeknipt.)

2.3. Easy
to apply
NEOFRAKT
®-splints
are very easy to apply and the application process is quick. It only
requires a minimum of technical equipment. The next chapter gives an
overview of the application procedure.

2.4. X-ray
transparent
|
 NEOFRAKT®-splints
are completely X-ray transparent. The X-ray image is perfect to the
smallest details. It is not necessary to remove, let alone replace, the
splint with every check.

2.5. Low weight
 An
average NEOFRAKT®-splint is about 1/3
lighter than an ordinary cast. Even large casts
like corsets, tutors,…are no extra burden for the patient and he is not
inhibited in his daily movements at work and/or at home.

2.6. Water-resistant
The polyurethane rigid foam is absolutely
waterresistant.
